Alkmaar Officepark Viaanse Molen

Viaanse GROOTOfficepark Viaanse Molen is named after the nearby Viaanse Molen (mill), which dates from around 1650.

This is an attractive office complex, housing the police force of the Province of Noord-Holland (northern region), NUON Energy BV and KPMG. The three properties have a total net floorspace of 7250 m2 plus parking for 150 cars. The complex lies on the northern side of Alkmaar, which places it centrally within Noordwest-Holland. Connections to the A9 motorway and the N9 and N242 trunk routes are excellent.

Many business properties are sterile and remote. Green areas are often the last item on the budget. Not so in the case of Viaanse Molen. The representative ambience of this complex stems not only from the offices and the car parks, but also from the rich vegetation and landscaping. The finishing touch is important to BKK. Which is reflected in the enclosed underground refuse storage facility, which has a capacity of 5 m3. This is more attractive, cleaner and more functional than a set of grey containers. At our own initiative, BKK built a public cycle shed for over 60 cycles next to the property, setting an example for the region of Alkmaar.

Rotterdam / Botlek: Theemsweg 5

BKK was asked to develop a new office building. This was a made-to-measure project, with an extensive set of requirements, such as a separate first-aid area. For ecological reasons, the building is heated and cooled using a VRF (variable refrigerant flow) system. This system reduces energy costs by around 20% and generates less CO2. The customer could also choose “green” electricity, enhancing sustainability still further.

Office building with a gross area of 2600 m2 (2350 m2 net) of reconfigurable office space distributed over four levels. 45 parking spaces. A ground floor extension houses a first-aid area of approximately 200 m2. The building was handed over and entered into service in 2006.
